Codex of the Sea
COTS is a 2D platformer which requires players to shit into different elemental forms. The player takes control of the "Shaman" who is the guardian of the water temple. One day, the other shamans (that represent different elements) raid the water temple and take the Codex that was under your protection. It is then up to the player to take control of the "Shaman" and to journey out into the world to reclaim what was lost.
Throughout this project I worked mostly on the general Design, Level Design and Scripting.
While working on the Level Design I felt it was important to make it feel as fluid as possible. Seeing as we wanted COTS to be a fast paced puzzle platformer, it required puzzles that would force people to play in that style. For players to complete the levels, they would need to settle into a rythm when it came down to changing forms. Puzzles needed to be arranged in such a manner which made sure players were always changing at a frequent pace. With each Shaman form comes different effects, so it's not just fast reactions, but fast thinking which is required.
Additonal Note:
I am currently creating new content for COTS, so there should be some new images going up soon. As it currently stands I am working on this by myself so all the new art work has been drawn by me.
